Saudi Arabia’s gigaproject, The Red Sea, is set to open its inaugural international airport this summer, according to an exclusive interview with Arabian Business where Red Sea Global (RSG) CEO John Pagano disclosed key details.
The Red Sea International Airport will initially focus on serving domestic arrivals and gradually expand its operations to accommodate international flights by the following year.
Pagano emphasized that the airport, designed as a comprehensive boutique facility, will be equipped to handle aircraft of all scales, ranging from private jets to the colossal Airbus A380.
Furthermore, it will be the only airport in the region to have a dedicated runway for seaplanes.
Pagano explained that the Red Sea International Airport will be solely powered by renewable energy, similar to the rest of both Red Sea Globaldestinations, The Red Sea and Amaala.
