
The Senior Special Assistant to Ekiti State Governor on Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs), Dr. (Mrs.) Abimbola Solanke has
re-emphasized the commitment of Governor Kayode Fayemi led-government to improving the welfare of Ekiti people.
Dr. Solanke gave the hint during a two-day inspection tour of 2015 CGS
LGA Projects in Ilejemeje, Ise/Orun, Ikere, Ikole, Irepodun/Ifelodun
and Ado Ekiti Local Government Areas of the State.
The Senior Special Assistant (SSA), who assured the consultants from
Abuja led by Mr. Mackson Otutu, maintained that the Fayemi-led
government has provided the needed support with the collaboration of
the Federal Government to actualize the seventeen SDGs in the State.
She commended the State Governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi for his magnanimity in ensuring that SDGs Projects were not abandoned in Ekiti State bearing in mind that those projects under inspection were constructed
in 2015.
Earlier, the Consultants from the office of SDGs in Abuja led by Mr.
Mackson Otutu had rated Ekiti State as one of the States in Nigeria
that have implemented SDGs Projects as specified.
Mr. Otutu who commended the Contractors for a job well done noted that the projects could stand the test of time, saying Ekiti State has always been in the forefront in Nigeria, when talking about provision of infrastructural facilities for its people.
The Head Teacher of Methodist Primary School, Odo Ayedun in Ikole
Local Government, Mrs. Faramade Aribisala who thanked SDGs for the provision of six (6) blocks of classrooms in Odo Ayedun said the building has increased pupils’ enrolment in the School.
Also a Traditional Ruler, the Alasin of Asin-Ekiti, Oba Abraham
Oluwafemi Babalola who expressed happiness on the construction of a
Health Centre Staff Quarters and renovation of the existing Health Centre in the town thanked SDGs for the facilities and requested for the provision of borehole, electricity and perimeter fencing for proper functioning of the health institution.
