My attention has been drawn to recent mockery of New Direction Media Lieutenants by wailers finally accepting God dividends in present day Kogi State.
Without mincing words, my fellow Media Lieutenants popularly referred to as “Data Boys” some how make mistake in their optimistic approach in what the English man called pronouns of person and number.
To set the record, in 1999, following Nigeria’s return to democratic state thus ending military regime in the nation, Prince Abubakar Audu of blessed memory was sworn as the 1st Executive Executive Governor of Kogi State.
By person, late Abubakar was the 1st Executive Governor of the state while by number, he was the 1st as well.
In 2003, Alh. Ibrahim Idris was sworn by number, the 2nd Executive Governor of the state and by person, he was equally the 2nd to govern the state in democratic parlance.
In 2007, Alh. Ibrahim Idris was sworn again by number, the 3rd Executive Governor of the state but by person, he was the 2nd to govern the state in democratic era. This was where we missed it.
In 2012, Captain Idris Ichala Wada became by person, the 3rd to govern the state but by number of sworn in, he was the 4th in democratic circle of the state. From here, another blunder was made in terms of numbers.
In 2016, a young man from Agassa, His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello, was sworn as an Executive Governor of Kogi State.
By person, GYB was the 4th to attain the leadership of the state whereas by number in democratic practice, he, (GYB) was the fifth in the circle.
In 2020, hopefully, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello would be sworn again as an Executive Governor of the state and by person, he remains the 4th just like Alh. Ibrahim Idris who was 2nd in 2003 and 2nd in 2007 but in number, the young man from Agassa, GYB, would be 6th in the democratic circle same as Alh. Ibrahim Idris who was 2nd and 3rd in the circle.
The mistake here has been addressed and I really commend us all as we continue our good quest of showcasing Yahaya Bello in the media. This was the only means I could reach to us and I advise us to be guided henceforth.
