The sad reality of the Nigerian society today and particularly the IGBO WORLD is hypocrisy, self-righteousness, envy, jealousy, and hatred. Our Society thrives on insincerity, dual/split personality. We enjoy it so much that it has become us and we pass it to our children. We create our own world and want every other person to conform to it. We never make allowance for individual, community, or ethnic cultures and peccadilloes.
WHO TOLD US that sex is evil and must not be given all seriousness and passion? Who told us that having multiple partners is abhorrent? What makes us think that a woman does not have the right to her God-given endowments? Why must we foist our private standards on all others?I have traveled to over 50 Countries and learned about some of their cultures. The African nations of:GABON CAMEROON EQUATORIAL GUINEA SOUTH AFRICA COTE D’IVOIRE stands out distinctly on amorous morals in contrast to what we Igbos perceive as our standard world or accepted norms. To nail it: these people’s world revolves around SEX and BOOZE! They don’t make pretences about it. Sex is not that sacrosanct and taboo as we see it.
THE BALTHAZAR EBANGA TAPES.
Yes, I took time to examine (note examine not watch) and analyse these tapes, and I concluded before the result of any investigation that he did nothing wrong. Rather, he should be applauded for really proving we the menfolk still have some LIVING LEGENDS. These are some of my findings;
1. All the women involved exhibited so much passion that 95% of wives never show to their husbands in such sessions.
2. There was great mutual acceptance and joy. It was like a hungry man who had FUFU and a woman who prepared a good OGBONO SOUP with every desired condiments. Both agreed to share together with choice wines to savor it.
3. Both parties knew they were being videotaped, and sometimes the man rose to adjust the position of the camera.
4. None of the sessions I examined indicated that it was a “first time action’. They all looked like return or agreed next time matches. There were no inhibitions or shyness. Rather, eagerness permeated throughout the episodes.
5. The scene of the pregnant lady seemed to say and share the song: OH MIRACLE WORKER, COME & REPEAT YOUR MIRACLE$€$#¥€<}&.
6. EBONGA looked like a famous and famed man with all the dream endowments and endorsements any woman ever dreamt of. To every woman that partook it was like dream fulfilled.
7. EBONGA was MECCA to women, especially wives. For weaklings like me, he is dangerous and should not be allowed, so husbands don’t become head hunters.
WHAT ABOUT SOME NIGERIAN CULTURES?As said earlier, let us not use our primordial ways of life and standards as paradigms for others. Nigeria is a multicultural geopolitical entity with various practices that are in contrast with others. Do we know that we operate different nuptial laws or rules amongst the North, West, and South Eastern Nigerian.
In the Northern customary law, marriage can be contracted with 13 years old, and in the then Eastern Nigeria, it was 16 years even to date. Some of us married at 16 or took in 16 years olds as spouses. In the same Nigeria, POLYANDRY is practiced and accepted. In the same vein, young suitors may be required to prove their libido or virility before being betrothed a damsel so she will not be left in the lurch.
In some others, the BRIDE is expected to prove her fertility by having a child out of wedlock or pregnancy. Yes, all these happen in Nigeria!
May we all find happiness. Akajiugo.
