Time to Appoint Asiwaju Omo Yoruba. By Abdulwaheed Badmus
Alaafin fired the wrong salvo with his open letter he wrote to Mr. President in respect of insecurity in Yorubaland. Alaafin approach is more similar to OBJ hypocritical approach of reacting to national issues instead of conferring privately with Mr. President like the Arole Oduduwa, Ooni few days.
Alaafin’s option seem to be a counter move against the Ooni’s position towards achieving the best solution of insecurity facing the Yoruba region.
The tone of his letter seem to show that he is the conscience and mouth piece of the Yoruba race or Omo Oduduwa in situation like this.
From all indications the Yoruba race is back to square one in terms of complex between the Alaafin of Oyo and the Arole Oduduwa.
The Yoruba race do not need another mouse and cat race of old.
Instead of debating the who has the mandate to speak for the Yoruba’s interests in a situation like the insecurity facing Yorubaland. I think the time seem to be riped to appoint another Asiwaju of Yoruba who will play the same role Awolowo played after the death of the first republic.
