It was indeed a glamourous outing in Ado Ekiti as the Governor of Anambra State Chief Willie Obiano and his Wife Ebelechukwu were installed as the Aare and Erelu Amuagun of Ado Ekiti.
At the ceremony which took place at the palace of Ado Ekiti, hundreds of Anambra indigenes who reside in Ekiti rolled out drums and made several cultural display to the admiration of the audience.
Performing the installation, the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe stressed the importance of peace and unity to the development of Nigeria.
Oba Adejugbe urged political office holders to place priority on the welfare of their citizens and desist from divisive tendencies in the name of playing politics.
Oba Adejugbe explained that the chieftaincy tittle confered on governor Obiano was due to his integrity, hardwork, transparency and interest in welfare of his people.
Speaking at the event, the wife of Ekiti State Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi congratulated Governor Obiano and his wife Ebelechukwu for the honour and promised that Governor kayode Fayemi would not relent in his efforts to deliver on all his promises.
In their acceptance speech Governor Willie Obiano and his wife Ebelechukwu thanked Ewi of Ado Ekiti for counting them worthy of the chieftaincy tittles with a promise to contribute their quota to the development of Ekiti State.
The president of Ohaneze Youth, Mr Sunday Obi and Ohaneze Ndigbo in Ekiti State, High Chief Alex Ndubuisi appreciated Ewi-in-council for honouring their son.
According to them, the title conferred on Obiano would further promote peace and unity in the country.
The programme was attended by Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, Chairman Council of Traditional Rulers in Ekiti State who is the Oloye of Oye Ekiti, Oba Oluwole Ademolaju, Aare Afe Babalola, Ekiti State Deputy governor, Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi among other dignitaries.
