19 FIRE DISASTER VICTIMS GET FINANCIAL SUCCOUR FROM EKITI GOVT
The Ekiti State Government has given financial lifeline of over N2.2
million to 19 victims of fire disaster across the 16 local government
areas.
Each of the beneficiaries received N120,000 cash to provide relief for
them and identify with them in their time of need.
Distributing the cash to the beneficiaries in his office on Thursday,
the Deputy Governor, Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi, sympathized with them on
the loss of their properties.
A statement signed by the Special Assistant (Media) to the Deputy
Governor, Odunayo Ogunmola, explained that the presentation was
witnessed by the officials of the State Emergency Management Agency
(SEMA).
The Deputy Governor assured that the Kayode Fayemi administration
would continue to prioritize the welfare of people in the state.
Egbeyemi urged residents of the state to be more careful in handling
electrical appliances and prevent anything that could cause fire
outbreak in their areas.
SEMA General Manager, Mr. Olajide Borode, observed that the gesture
was part of the four-point agenda of the present administration in
terms of giving succour to the people.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Chief Johnson Ogunleye, from
Iroko Ekiti in Ijero Local Government Area, appreciated the state
government for the gesture which he described as very timely.
The beneficiaries expressed joy with the gesture and prayed for the
success of the Fayemi administration.
