Governor Biodun Oyebanji once again demonstrated that integrity is measured by keeping one’s word, as he honoured a promise made a year ago by attending the investiture of Dr. Fiona Nyako Ahmed Ahimie, FCS, as the 14th President and the first female President of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The event, which attracted prominent personalities including Senate Leader, Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, marked a historic transition as Dr. Ahimie succeeded Mr. Oluropo Dada, FCS, the Institute’s 13th President.
Governor Oyebanji had pledged during Mr. Dada’s investiture last year that he would personally witness the inauguration of the Institute’s next President. Despite the demands of his recent re-election and ongoing post-election engagements, the Governor fulfilled that promise without hesitation.
His appearance at the ceremony drew admiration from the audience, but the applause grew even louder when attendees learned he had committed to attending the event a year earlier and had faithfully honoured that commitment.
It was yet another reflection of the character that has earned him the reputation of “Mr.y Promise Keeper” a leader whose word remains his bond. Governor Oyebanji continues to exemplify the values of integrity, honour, and dependable leadership, reinforcing why many proudly describe him as a true son of the Land of Honour.
