
Ekiti state government has reiterated its commitment to work more
closely with all national and international development partners.
The Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr Oyebanji Filani
made this known while responding to the briefing by the development
partners and all the stakeholders in the Ekiti State health sector.
Dr. Filani echoed that they should see the success of the state health
team as the success of individual that has contributed, hence, the
need for all hands to be on deck in moving Ekiti health system forward.
He encouraged the partners to put before government whatever can aid
the smooth running of their assignments in the state as he assured
that the meeting would be held more regularly.
He charged the Civil Society Organizations to make use of their
channels to reach the general public on what the Ekiti state
government under the leadership of Dr. Kayode Fayemi is doing because
they are the ones to feel the pulse of the people and in turn feed the
government back on the feelings of the people.
Earlier, the representative of Civil Society Organizations Prof.
Christopher Oluwadare appreciated the initiative of the commissioner
and pledged that the CSOs, especially those in the core health sector,
are ready to partner the state government.
Present at the briefing were the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of
Health, Dr. Folakemi Olomojobi, her counterpart in the Primary Health
Care Development Agency, Pharmacist Olabisi Arogundade, WHO, Unicef,
NPHCDA, Marie Stopes, APIN public health initiatives, Rotary club
among others.
