The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Ekiti State, Hon. Biodun Omoleye has described various programmes and projects of Dr. Kayode Fayemi administration as unprecedented and historic projects that would stand the test of time and improve the socio-economic life of the people of the State.
Speaking at the end of a 3-day tour of projects in the State by Ekiti Stakeholders at Ijurin, Ijero Local Government of the State, Omoleye expressed satisfaction over the quality of work done on the roads, adding that most of the new building infrastructure were equipped with modern facilities to make the environment friendly and conducive for users.
Omoleye said the good road networks, the buildings and other projects would no doubt attract investors and inject life into their host communities. He added that the projects which were spread across the states will bring about even development.
He explained that some of the projects that were tagged “legacy projects” were executed with the future in mind adding ” they were equipped with the latest facilities to stand the test of time.”
He said various facilities put around the state were also designed to promote business as well as encourage new businesses to spring up. Citing the location of the airport project, Omoleye said the place would soon become the economic hub of the State with different investments already springing up around the axis.
According to the Chief of Staff, the project were of economic value, strategically positioned across the State to boost the State Internally Generating Revenue (IGR). He said the Ikun Dairy farm, the Asphalt plants, the Ultramodern Oja Oba Market, the College of Agriculture and Technology, Isan Ekiti, and several others were expected to yield bountifully for the State.
He added that the massive infrastructural projects embark upon in schools across the state and the four model schools named after the illustrious sons of the State were part of the restoration agenda to reposition education and make it takes its position of pride among states in the country as inherited from the founding fathers of the State.
“The Ikun dairy farm is another project that is futuristic, ambitious, and life transforming because it encompasses on the lives of the people there and by extension is going to reduce capital flight from the state. its going to improve the IGR of the state.
“The glory of education has declined over the years and students have started cutting corners. this is not the legacies bequeathed on us by our forefathers and the promise of the government to the people of the state is to reclaim the lost glory of the state and in doing that we have seen
that education industry is being given maximum attention in this administration.
Omoleye pleaded with the stakeholders to continue to engage government in matters affecting the development of the State, saying that Fayemi led administration is open to correction, positive criticism and commendation.
The Chairman of Ijero local Government, Hon. Ropo Ige commended the Governor for the renovations of schools, health centres and other projects initiated and completed in his local government.
One of the stakeholders on the tour and representative of the people, Mrs Olubunmi Falana expressee delight on the various projects visited advised the people of the State to take out time to visit those projects and cultivate the culture of appreciation.
