It was jubilation galore in Agbado Ekiti, Gbonyin local government as the special Assistant to Ekiti State Governor, Mr Olalekan Ijidale doled out cash to about three hundred elderly citizens in the community.
In addition, Mr. Ijidale gave out financial assistance and free petrol to over one hundred commercial motorcyclists whose operation had almost been grounded due to scarcity of the commodity which also resulted into hike in the price.
The beneficiaries of the gesture from Isanda quarters are Mr Richard Adeleye, Mr David Adelusi, Chief (Mrs) Rhoda Adelusi, Mrs Faluyi, Chief Mrs Aina Alao. Those from Okerete quarters include Chief Eyelori, Mr Ilesanmi Durojaye, Chief Odolofin, Chief Oluomo, Chief Durojaye Olotu.
The benefits was also extended to Chief Ojo Ajayi Oleye, Chief Isijola Oloje, Chief Mrs Ezekiah and Mrs Ajayi, all from Emure quarters. The recipients from Oke Bola Street include OLORI OKUNBOBADE,MRS JINATU IGE, CH.MRS CELINA BABALOLA,MRS JULIANAH IJASANMI,IYALOJA AGBADO,CH.OJOMO,BABA OLOFE OGUNJEMILUA,MRS IGE,MRS Oladapo.
Those from Ifinmi :PA OWOLABI,CH.OWOYE,MRS OJA OWOYE,MRS OGUNJEMILUA,MR &MRS OJO Ebira while CH.OJOMU,CH.PETER OKE,CH.MRS OLAIYA,MRS &MRS ODESANMI,MR OLUWATOKI,MRS ADARAMOYE received from Isarun quarters.
The beneficiaries who could not hide their feelings chanted songs in Ekiti dialect yọ acknowledge the gesture of the Governor’s aide and showered him with prayers.
In an interview, Mr Olalekan Ijidale affirmed that the financial support for the elderly citizens was his personal initiative to complement the social welfare scheme of Governor Kayode Fayemi towards enhancing the living standard of the aged.
Mr Ijidale explained that the gesture was given to the beneficiaries without preference for religion, political party or ethnicity. Adding that he would continue to impact meaningfully on the lives of the people.
He called on them to always show their support for Governor Fayemi – led administration and to achieve success and realize his future ambition.
Mr Ijidale urged youths of Agbado Ekiti not to engage in criminal activities that could jeopardise their future, rather they should devote their time to what could contribute positively to their lives.
