The Ekiti State Government has said the ongoing verification exercise
for primary school teachers was embarked upon to update government
records and flush out ghost workers from the system.
The State Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Prof. Adio
Folayan who stated this while monitoring the exercise in Ado Local
Government, stressed that the exercise was not to witch hunt adding
that a similar exercise was carried out for local government workers
last year.
Assuring teachers in the State that the Fayemi administration would
not sack any worker, Folayan urged the teachers not to panic.
The Commissioner lauded the conduct of the teachers that had
participated in the exercise and assured them that government would
continue to prioritize their welfare.
Responding, one of the teachers, Mrs. Blessing Ogunware who described
the exercise as commendable, expressed gratitude to the State
Government for prioritizing the welfare of teachers in the State.
