The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has named Ekiti State University, Ado – Ekiti as one of the first ten most sought after universities in Nigeria.
In a recently released “2020 Institutions Admission by Quantum (First 10 Universities), EKSU, the only State University in the ranking, was ranked 9th after the Universities of Ilorin, Benin and Maiduguri that came 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
In the data, 15,739 candidates applied to the university in year 2020 out of which 8,088 candidates were admitted, thus exceeding its quota of 7,899.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Edward Olanipekun, while reacting, expressed satisfaction at the new rating and vowed that the university would continue to aspire for the best.
