I’m Any policy that inflicts LONG LASTING INJURY on majority of the people is a bad one.
The CBN printed the old notes up to late last year. They should have stopped printing new ones of the old notes knowing a redesign was imminent or was their decision spontaneous and not based on critical thinking for short, medium and long term impact?
Worst still, CBN is not communicating with the people with the right messaging, except threats and ultimatums, no community meetings before the policy, no constructive engagements, except to hire ngos that have no track records, that don’t enjoy public goodwill.
Mr Emefele should worry about his post public service profile on the streets of every Nigerian community, if he has conscience.
People are already raining curses on him. The woes of the country have been forgotten. The immediate problem and enemy of Nigerians is seen as Emefiele.
If your name is Emefielè and you come to my office, I will first ask if you are related to Mr Godwin Emefiele. Its just natural.
One of his most consistent messaging is his “Meeting the President” considered as an attempt to bully the public, indirectly confirming that his decisions were miles away from professionalism and independence but driven by partisan politics.
Even the Ministry of Finance complained but he replied with the cliche “I have met the President.”
He raised ģrave suspicion when he collected APC Presidential form and said farmers he gave loans paid his 100m. SHAI. History is taking notes.
Well, the banks are now 2trillion plus richer. This money, where do the interests go?
I tell you, the worst thing for any country is for people to distrust the banks. These past few weeks, many Nigerians have come to see banks as equivalent of armed robbers.
People may go back to Esusu, the traditional banking system.
More funds will end in private homes when things normalise
We have been taught that it’s unwise to keep your money in banks.
You took money belonging to people, you refuse to give them new notes and the old notes they paid. This is typical of yahoo yahoo, 419.
You swore deadlines, creating panick and you changed the deadlines.
No new notes, no old notes.
Most people are waiting for the banks to open.
They will collect their money in bits and keep at home. If their desire was to stop a particular candidate, they have only campaigned for the same candidate to win.
Today’s anger is mostly against CBN and the Presidency, not necessarily against the Presidential aspirant(s) they target
Emefiele has fueled sympathy votes for those he and his sponsors did not want in Aso Rock. There are now some major political parties contesting for the Presidency in Nigeria:
APC
PDP
LP
Others
CBN/ASO ROCK ALLIANCE with Emefiele seen as the funder of this last political party.
This is the most irresponsible way to run any country
