This weekend, there will be a gathering of old classmates at Abeokuta Girls’ Grammar School, Onikolobo, Abeokuta, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of leaving the school in 1978.
We, the set of 1978 will meet in our old school to celebrate this important milestone together and deliberate on ways in which we can continue to support our alma mater as well as mentor younger generations of AGGS girls.
The two day reunion will feature the following activities:
-An awareness walk
– Handing over a refurbished Chemistry laboratory donated by the 1978 Set
-A visit to the Stella Obasanjo Motherless Babies Home
-Seminar for teachers on modern teaching techniques
-Recognition old teachers
–A Reunion Dinner
The Class of 1978 is converging from all over Nigeria and the United States and Europe. The set boasts of prominent Scholars, Industrialists, Administrators, Journalists, Doctors, Pharmacists, Educationists, Senior Government Officials, top Civil Servants and many others who have distinguished themselves from all walks of life.
This reunion is our way of giving thanks to God for his blessings over the years. Many of us have not seen each other since we left school, so we are all very excited. We hope that our time together will enable us understand better how to help our great school. We all owe who we are today to our time at AGGS.
