A former Governor of Kwara State, Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed, has expressed profound appreciation to Kwarans, home and abroad, especially the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, for standing firm for the truth while his “undeserved ordeal” over an alleged misuse of fund lasted.
Ahmed said this in a statement he personally signed and released to the media on Tuesday in Abuja.
He said: “On behalf of my wife and the entire family, I thank the President, 8th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr Abubakar Saraki, chairman and other executive members of the state’s PDP, party elders and stakeholders and traditional rulers for their support and commitments to the rule of law, especially in ensuring that justice was not only done but seen to be done.”
Dr. Ahmed said he has absolute confidence that the judiciary remains the last hope for the sustenance of democracy and justice for the people.
“I want to reaffirm my preparedness to answer any legitimate query or question regarding my stewardship in the state,” the former governor said.
“In or out of government,” he said, “I shall make myself available for the growth, development, and well-being of our state.”
