The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, on Saturday joined Niger State Governor Umaru Mohammed Bago and other stakeholders in Minna for the official flag-off of the 2026 farming season.
Prof. Yilwatda described the ceremony as a major milestone in Nigeria’s ongoing efforts to achieve food security and build economic resilience through agriculture.
He particularly lauded the Niger State Government’s intervention, which includes the distribution of critical farming equipment and inputs: 50 combine harvesters, 250 tractors, 1,500 ploughing and other farming implements, and 150,000 bags of fertilizer.
“This bold investment speaks directly to productivity and prosperity for our people,” the APC National Chairman said.
The event received further prominence with the attendance of the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who served as Special Guest of Honor
