The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS Zone D) proudly commends and celebrates the exceptional contributions of Engineer Kayode Ojo, the recently relocated Governing Council Chairman of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE).
The Federal Government’s decision to transfer him to the University of Lokoja and bring the Governing Council Chairman of the University of Lokoja to FUOYE has elicited various reactions, particularly from his political adversaries.
However, it is crucial to acknowledge and honor the transformative leadership and profound impact Engineer Kayode Ojo has had on FUOYE.Despite his brief tenure, Engineer Kayode Ojo’s unwavering commitment to uplifting the university community and his visionary approach to making FUOYE the best university in Africa are evident.
His progressive policies and dedication to first-class academic standards have left an indelible mark on the institution.Engineer Kayode Ojo came into FUOYE as Pro-Chancellor and immediately began to address issues of marginalization, prioritizing the welfare of both staff and students. His brilliance and intelligence are undeniable, and his recent approval of 10 hectares of farmland for agricultural industrialization development is a testament to his forward-thinking approach.
One of his significant achievements was securing the approval for the long-pending 2.7 billion Naira Senate building project. This was made possible through his connections and his generally accepted personality, which facilitated the release of the necessary approvals. Additionally, he introduced and developed a comprehensive 25-year strategic framework for FUOYE, setting a clear vision for the university’s future.
Under his leadership, the council approved a staff housing estate and end-of-year relief packages, demonstrating his commitment to the welfare of university staff. His passion for improving the academic quality for students and staff was evident in the approval of the FUOYE Internet Distribution Service (FIDS), a robust internet service project for all students. This initiative aims to make FUOYE the best in Nigeria for quality education and innovation.
Engineer Kayode Ojo also provided the necessary support for the establishment of the university’s Microfinance Bank, enhancing financial services for the university community. His concern for the improvement and increase in the university’s capacity was demonstrated by securing an additional 1,000 admission quotas from JAMB, beyond the annual allocation, to accommodate more students.
Since his arrival, Engineer Kayode Ojo has been a beacon of hope for both staff and students. He has worked tirelessly to enhance the university’s image and foster a robust relationship between FUOYE management and regulatory bodies. His exceptional human resource management skills have been instrumental in diplomatically resolving issues affecting staff and students.
We, at NANS Zone D, have no doubt that any institution fortunate enough to have Engineer Kayode Ojo will benefit immensely from his transformative agenda. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to him for his outstanding service to FUOYE and humanity at large. We are confident that he will continue to excel in all his future endeavors.
Thank you, Engineer Kayode Ojo, for everything you have done for FUOYE and for setting a standard of excellence that will inspire generations to come.
