NOTICE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC
The attention of the GENERAL PUBLIC is hereby drawn to the circulation of a message claiming that the Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji is distributing ₦25,000 Election Campaign Cash Transfer funds through an online registration link.
Members of the GENERAL PUBLIC are advised to exercise caution and refrain from clicking, sharing or submitting personal information through this and/or any UNVERIFIED WEBSITE or PLATFORM.
Unless officially announced through the Governor’s verified communication channels or authorized Government Agencies, such claims should be treated as UNVERIFIED and potentially FRAUDULENT and it is meant to tarnish the good name of the Ekiti State Governor.
The public is therefore encouraged to disregard this fraudulent publication and also to verify all information through the official State Government sources before taking any action.
The public should also be aware of the existence of Cybercrime Laws and other relevant legislations. The Police are currently investigating the source of this fake news with a view to bringing the Culprits to book.
