Ekiti State Government has commenced the grading of farmstead roads
across the sixteen local government areas of the State.
The State Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development,
Prof. Adio Folayan while monitoring the project in some local
government areas explained that the government embarked on grading of
rural roafds to ease movement of farm produce from the grassroots to
major towns.
Some of the council areas visited by the Commissioner and his team
include Efon, Ekiti South-West, Ekiti West, Irepodun/Ifelodun and
Ado-Ekiti Local Governments.
Prof. Folayan noted the road grading would enhance economic activities
at the farmstead and thereby boost the Internally Generated Revenue

ongoing Neighbourhood Markets projects across the councils visited,
where he charged contractors handling the projects to speed up work
and execute the project according to specifications.

shoddy job as the government of Dr. Kayode Fayemi would not accept any
substandard project.
Responding, the ALGON Chairman, Hon. Kolade Amire, on behalf of other
chairmen, thanked the State Government for embarking on such legacy
project, which according to him, would greatly improve the socio
economic status of the rural dwellers.
Speaking to news men, one of the farmers at Odo-Uro Farmstead in
Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area, Mr. Abdulahi Rasak commended
the State Government for embarking on grading of the rural roads,
noting that this would ease transportation of farm produce to the
