Father of the Ekiti State Commissioner for Information and Value Orientation, Aare Muyiwa Olumilua, has passed on.
80-year-old Chief Bamidele Isola Olumilua, whose death has just been confirmed, was the Executive Governor of Ondo State, Nigeria from January 1992 to November 1993 during the Nigerian Third Republic. He was elected on the Social Democratic Party (SDP) platform, but left office when the military regime of general Sani Abacha took power. Late Olumilua’s deputy was Olusegun Agagu, who later became Governor of Ondo State from 29 May 2003 until February 2009.
Pa Olumilua is survived by children and grandchildren. Funeral arrangements would be announced later.
May Papa Olumilua’s gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
