Ekiti State Head of Service urges collaboration between government agencies
Ekiti State Head of Service, Mr Ayodeji Ajayi has urged the Management
team of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Ekiti to
collaborate with relevant stakeholders to drive the anti-open
defecation policy of the State government.
While addressing the Management team of the SDGs under the leadership
of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on SDGs, Mrs. Bola
Solanke advocacy visit who paid him a courtesy visit, the Head of
Service observed that lots needed to be done to checkmate the menace
of open defecation in the state.
Mr. Deji Ajayi suggested that actionable plans such as provision of
facilities as well as sensitization of the general public be carried
out to nip the habit in the bud.
He called for a permanent structure to be erected for the SDGs to
enable it perform optimally.
Speaking earlier, the SSA, SDGs, Mrs. Solanke said various programmes
will soon be rolled out for the year following the payment of
counterpart funds by the State and Federal Governments.
Noting that the some local governments like Moba, Ijero, Oye and Ekiti
West will benefit from the next SDGs intervention, as baseline report
fund has been released by the state government to facilitate necessary
collaboration with donor agencies.
Mrs. Solanke called for support from the Civil Service towards
building the capacity of civil servants across the state as she
highlighted the major goals of the SDGs.
Present at the meeting are the management staff in the office of the
Head of Service including the Permanent Secretary in the Office, Dr.
(Mrs.) Bimpe Osundare, one of the Directors, Mrs. Yewande Adesua, the
SDGs Focal person, Mr. Kayode Adunmo and other top government
functionaries.
