Contrasting the writer’s claim of Oyebanji’s huge developmental strides, sincerely, If Governor Oyebanji would ever be remembered for anything in Ekiti State, it is his record of political desperation.
In Ekiti, all government’s activities so far in politics and iin governance were cheer scams woven around the buying and the selling of 2nd term endorsements.For example, as a price for buying 2nd term endorsement from the 3 sitting senators in Ekiti, Oyebanji has secretly promised them automatic return tickets, same for reps and other elective officers.
Former senators as well as a political contractor like Ayo Fayose, were not also exempted from the endorsement largesse.In that online publication, the writer gave a list of Oyebanji’s achievements in the health sector which he said he copied from a WhatsApp platform (name of platform not mentioned).
Anyway, anyone not living in Ekiti State might not get the intricacy of the ongoing exploitation of the state’s resources by the governor’s gang.Everything about Oyebanji’s government is a rick to get 2nd term ticket without going through the people, the way he got the ticket of his ongoing tenure.
For instance, not too long ago, Oyebanji’s government bought a medical equipment whose cost was not up to 3 million naira and Oyebanji had to,calll for a commissioning ceremony. A minister was even invited from Abuja for the purpose and posters of the commissioning ceremony flooded everywhere.
In spite of the several killings and abductions in Ekiti to include that of professor, Obas, POS operators, pupils, okada riders and farmers, Governor Oyebanji had continued to organize his 2nd term endorsement jamborees which he started when his tenure was barely 6 months old.
Nevertheless, we now, have an amusing news. The fearsome crescendo of Oyebanji’s desperation had reached a comical climax.With one leg in APC, the other in PDP, and another leg in EL-Rufai’s SDP, party, Oyebanji’ wanted to fool President Bola Tinubu.
Without being sent, Oyebanji’suddenly decided to use the occasion of his 2nd term endorsement jamboree at Iyin to also endorse President Bola Tinubu for 2nd term.Two of Oyebanji’s godfathers at the endorsement venue werer Dr Fayemi and Otunba’ Adebayo. Fayemi is a potential SDP leader He is looking for a political structure of a state which he can use as a bargaining tool in his SDP.. Otunba Adebayo is a former governor who has not been hiding his lack of respect or admiration for President Tinubu.So, who is fooling who?
