QUOTE
Compliments of the season to all our Omiyes. I want to sincerely on behalf of all the EXCO members thank you all for the opportunity given to us to serve this intellectual forum.
When I was called upon to step into the shoes of our leader, Prof Akin Oyebode, I received the news with trepidation, knowing the calibre of men and women that the forum parades. The best of the Ekitis indeed the best any human assembly or society can boast of can be found on this forum.
The various calls received and the expression of support by some members of the forum give me the confidence that together we will move the forum forward. This intellectual round table has come of age and should be a resource center for our State government to seek solutions to some of the burning issues that may confront governance in our State.
My predecessor our erudite Prof Akin Oyebode has raised the bar and the quality of various interactive discussions on the forum. We thank him for keeping the forum together since inception.
We must continue to exercise our Omoluabi ethos which Ekiti indeed the Yoruba’s are known for. Our members should as we have been doing, give to our elders their due respect at all times. Our discussions or arguments on any issue should be persuasive and not be abusive.
Also, as we have been doing, we must continue to be our brothers/sisters keepers, standing by ourselves not only in good times but also in difficult times.
Finally, Ekiti should be our focus supporting our government developmental efforts at all times by giving quality suggestions as to how things can be done better to improve the lives of our people . The forum must not be seen as an enemy of any government in power or an appendage of a political party in power in our State, Our neutrality will make our discussions or contributions on any burning issues be valued. Together we will build our State.
God bless you all.
Akinyemi Gabriel
