
INAUGURAL SITTING OF THE EKITI STATE COMMISSION OF INQUIRY ON LANDS AND RELATED MATTERS.
The Ekiti State Commission of Inquiry on Lands and Related Matters today had its inaugural sitting at the Ekiti State Ministry of Justice Academy.
The chairman of the Commission, Hon. Justice Adekunle Adeleye expressed gratitude to the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi for the opportunity given to members of the Commission to serve the State. He promised that the Commission would carry out its assignment without fear or favour. He urged members of the public to send their representations to the Secretariat of the Commission in time. According to him, this will give the Commission ample opportunity to attend to them as the assignment of the Commission is time bound.
The Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice Ekiti State, Olawale Fapohunda thanked the members of the Commission for accepting to serve the state. He said the setting up of the Commission is borne out of the complaints and responses of the people of the state during the “Meet The People Tour” recently embarked upon by Ekiti State Ministry of Justice. He expressed his belief that the Commission will do a thorough job.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman, Ekiti State Traditional Rulers Council represented by the Onimesi of Imesi Ekiti; H.R.M. Oba Festus Olatunji Olatunde expressed confidence in the Commission. He enjoined the Commission to work with traditional rulers in the course of its assignment.
Other stakeholders present at the event are: the Chairman of Trade Union Congress in Ekiti State; Comrade Sola Adigun, his NLC counterpart, Comrade Kolapo Olatunde, Chairman Nigerian Institute of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, Ekiti State; Mr. Sunday Olajide, Chairman Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, Ekiti State chapter; Mr. Tope Obe, the representative of Nigerian Union of Journalist, Ekiti State chapter among others.
