
The 8th edition of the BAO Walk facilitated by a former Lawmaker representing Ekiti North Federal Constituency I, Bimbo Daramola was held on Saturday, with thousands of participants exercising from Erijiyan to the hometown of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, Ikogosi, Ekiti State.
The initiative, pioneered by the Congressman continues to gain momentum as a platform to promote physical fitness and raise awareness about healthcare access.Speaking after the walk, Daramola expressed gratitude for the turnout and underscored the importance of personal responsibility in health management.
“It’s been a long walk, but we are grateful to God that people showed interest. The Governor has done so much for healthcare at the grassroots, and many people don’t even know as much as they should.“By what we have done today, people who didn’t know the road to the healthcare facilities provided by the Governor trooped out for the exercise. My fulfillment will be in the sustainability of this initiative”.
Professor Femi Akinwunmi, Chairman of the Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), applauded Daramola for sustaining the initiative, while also appreciating Governor Biodun Oyebanji for creating an enabling environment for community wellness programs.
Hon Johnson Adeoye, representing Ekiti West Constituency II in Ekiti State House of Assembly, praised the walk as an opportunity for people to embrace fitness.The Chairman of Ekameta Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Leye Adeniji, also commended Daramola, adding that the walk has inspired him to replicate such activities in his own council area very soon.
