
The Ekiti State Independent Electoral Commission, (EKSIEC) had indicated its readiness to work with the Nigeria Police Force, State Services and other Security Agencies for the conduct of Local Government Council Election.
The Chairman of EKSIEC, Justice Babajide Aladejana made the declaration while on courtesy visits to the office of the Commissioner of Police and the Director of State Services to solicit their support for the Commission as it carries out its assignments.
He called for a synergy with the Security Agencies especially on the security coverage of the Commission and the State at large for smooth, free, fair and credible elections. He stressed the need for the support of the Federal Agencies in the area of security and cooperation.
Responding, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Asuqou Amba appreciated, the Chairman, Justice Aladejana and his team. The CP said Ekiti State is relatively peaceful and emphasized the need for transparency in election processes so as to ensure peace in the society.
The Director of the State Services (DSS) Mr. M.M. Halilu, fsi, also expressed his readiness to support and accommodate the Commission at any given time.
