ERELU BISI FAYEMI & WORLD BANK DELIVER A MEANINGFUL CHRISTMAS GESTURE TO PERSONS LIVING WITH DISABILITIES IN EKITI

- Ekiti First Lady, Erelu Bisi Fayemi Presents Cheques Worth N25m to Vulnerable Groups.
- The Ekiti State First Lady, Erelu Bisi Fayemi has presented cheques worth about N25 million to four Vulnerable Groups in the state. The groups are Irewamide, Irewolu, Ifesowapo and Orelope vulnerable groups (VGs).
The presentation of cheques to these vulnerable groups is part of the partnership arrangements between the World Bank and Ekiti state government aimes at eradicating poverty among the extremely poor people of the state under the Ekiti Community and Social Development Project arrangement.
Presenting the cheques, Erelu Bisi Fayemi enjoined the beneficiaries which included widows and people with physical disabilities to make a good use of the money for the various projects that they were meant for. She also reiterated the commitment of the Fayemi’s government to partner with some development institutions to reduce poverty in the state.
“What we are doing here today falls within the social investment agenda of the Fayemi’s administration at building the capacities of the extremely poor and vulnerable people in the state. This is one good way of reducing the menace of poverty from our society, thereby building the capacity of the weak ones.”
