
EKITI STATE AND THE NATIONAL DIRECTORATE OF EMPLOYMENT SYNERGY: JKF, A PROMISE IN FULFILLMENT
In continuation of the mission to restore the values and reclaim our land from the vices of unemployment and poverty, His Excellency, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi and the Director General, National Directorate of Employment, Dr. Nasiru Ladan Moh’d Argungu are set to flag off a capacity building training for 6,300 selected women and youths across the sixteen (16) local government councils of Ekiti State on Thursday, 24th January, 2019.
The programme, which is a re-enactment of the collaboration between Ekiti State and the National Directorate of Employment during JKF’s first coming will be focussing on Agribusiness Small and Medium Enterprises Investment Scheme (AGSMEIS), Micro Enterprise Enhancement, Beauty Therapy and Demand Driven Skills of choice.
The training programme, which will involve Basic Business Training (BBT) and short Business Plan is targeted at the following categories of Ekiti people:
a. 300 women for Micro Enterprise Enhancement Scheme
b. 700 women to be trained in Cosmetology and Beauty Theraphy Skills
c. 300 unemployed youth to be trained in demand driven quick win skills set of their choice
d. 5000 NDE/ CBN Agric Small and Medium Enterprise.
The programme is in furtherance of the efforts of the Federal Government, and by extension, Ekiti State to promote policies, programmes and activities that will enhance capacity building, ultimately leading to job creation, wealth creation and sustainable livelihood.
At the end of the exercise, the mindsets of the participants would have been adequately prepared to see the huge potentials in agribusiness. Besides, it will enable them to access support funds for their businesses.
The empowerment programme that is being anchored by the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) is part of the numerous efforts of JKF’s administration to collaborate with development partners at the global, regional, national and subnational levels.
This, among other milestone achievements are to be rolled out in the activities commemorating the first 100 days of this administration.
For the 100 days in office; it’s been digging the ground and laying a solid foundation for a sustainable future in Ekiti.
