Gov. Fayemi speaks on “Meet Your Governor ” 1st July,2019.
ON RUGA SETTLEMENT
“I have not been asked neither have I ceded Ekiti land to anyone or group of people. There is not discussion have been part of as Governor of Ekiti that talks about ceding Ekiti land. Only 12 States in the country, all of them in the Northern part, have shown interest in the RUGA shelter and so Ekiti is not part of them.”
ON TACKLING INSECURITY IN THE SOUTH WEST
“People only saw the South West governors’ public display at the just concluded South West Security Summit in Ibadan two weeks ago as reported by the media but they did not see the 2 days intensive sessions with security chiefs that followed the public display. “
ON THE RUMOURED 28/18 PEOPLE KIDNAPPED ON ADO/AKURE ROAD
“Even the adoption of one person is bad enough though the victim had regained his freedom but a lot of this is being propelled by lies and falsehood especially on social media.”
ON ADO/AKURE ROAD
“In my first term, I approved the rehabilitation of Ado/ Akure road with the payment of more than 30% of the contract sum to the contractor before leaving office only for my successor to retrieve the money and diverted it to something else but I can assure that work will start on the road in few weeks time”
ON THE RUMOURED PARIS FUND RECEIVED BY EKITI
” There is no money that will drop in this state that people won’t know about because people have friends in the Accountant General’s office too. The only time Ekiti collected Paris fund was last December and I came out to tell the entire state we were going to use it for workers’ arears . If we have taken another Paris fund we would let Ekiti know. There is nothing to hide ,it is Ekiti money.”
ON THE UNHYGIENIC STATE OF ABATTOIR IN ADO
“There will be a difference very soon . I have directed the Ministry of Agriculture which is in charge of its management to something about it”
ON HIS TRIP TO ABIDJAN RECENTLY
“We went to African Development Bank (AFDB) with a package . We had extensive discussions with them on areas we want them to support us. Out of 8 projects we presented to them for support they chose 4 which are: Ado – Akure Road project, Airport project, Knowledge zone project and Agric zone project. The AFDB team will be visiting Ekiti for one week very soon .”
WORDS ON MARBLE
By Adewale Adeoye
Thank goodness Dr Fayemi has vast experience on conflict prevention and peace building.
That is the essence of War Studies. Thank goodness he has an exceptionally brilliant soul-mate companion and wife,Erelu Bisi Fayemi.
An unintelligent Governor can easily be misled by YES MEN who think first of their monthly stipend and think less of the people they ought to represent and defend.
Thank goodness for honest and amazing advisers that see through every project and are hands-in-hands with the Governor in his bid to put the interest of Ekiti people first before any other thing.
Thank goodness for a Governor that is courageous to stand where his people are.
With this statement coming from the elected Governor of Ekiti State, many of us are delighted and happy. Thank you sir
