Discover Ekiti tourism club is set to open up Ekiti to hiking as it officially launches Hike Ekiti Mountain Safari 1.0
The club has been working vigorously behind the scene to open up Ekiti to tourism and put Ekiti on the world map alongside other tourist destinations like Tanzania, Kenya, Dubai e.t.c.
The vision of this initiative is to showcase Ekiti to the world and attract tourists to the state.
Hike Ekiti Mountain Safari has been scheduled to kick off by 7am on Easter Monday April 22nd, 2019.
The Hiking Adventure will begin from Ofin hills, opposite police headquarters Ado-Iyin road to Tungba hills in Tungba village. It is to be followed by a picnic on the Ofin hill after the hiking experience.
The event will be declared open by the Governor of Ekiti state, Dr John Kayode Fayemi, after which he will visit the Esa cave, Esu Esa and the Agogo Esa, all on Esa hill.
He will be joined by the Honorable Commissioner for Information, Tourism and Values Orientation, Hon Muyiwa Olumilua and DG, Ekiti Council of Arts and Culture, Mr Wale Lanre-Ojo. The event is the first of its kind in Ekiti and it promises to be exciting for all lovers of nature and explorers.
Special International guest for this program is Mr Busuyi Asaolu , an Ekiti indigene who has climbed the Kilimanjaro mountain and put the flag of Nigeria on the mountain.
Hike Ekiti mountain safari is an experience of a life time and the Discover Ekiti tourism team is calling on Ekiti indigenes to be part of history as we showcase Ekiti hills to the world.
