Applications are now open for the Federal Government’s 2026 fertilizer distribution initiative under the National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF) and the Renewed Hope Farm Input Support Program (FISP), which aims to distribute 515,720 bags of urea and NPK fertilizer’s to 128,930 smallholder farmers across Nigeria.
While there is no direct online application portal for individual beneficiaries, farmers can improve their chances of selection by registering through approved agricultural databases and engaging with relevant state and local agricultural institutions.
Why It Matters
Access to quality fertiliser remains one of the biggest challenges facing smallholder farmers in Nigeria. By providing subsidised or free farm inputs, the programme seeks to boost crop yields, improve food production, reduce farming costs, and strengthen national food security. For many rural farmers, participation can significantly improve productivity and profitability during the farming season.
How the Programme Works
Beneficiaries are selected through verified farmer databases compiled at federal and state levels. The government uses existing farmer registration platforms and data provided by agricultural agencies, cooperatives, and extension services to identify eligible participants.
Steps to Apply
Register on the National Fertilizer Management Platform (NFMP)
The NFMP provides access to government-supported fertiliser programmes and agricultural value chain services.
National Fertilizer Management Platform (NFMP)
Register on the National Digital Farmers Registry (NDFR)
The NDFR, implemented in partnership with IFAD and Heifer International, serves as a national database of farmers and agribusiness operators.
National Digital Farmers Registry (NDFR)
Each state has an Agricultural Development Project (ADP) office responsible for farmer verification, extension services, and programme coordination. Farmers are encouraged to register and update their records with these offices.
Engage Local Agricultural Officers
Farmers should maintain contact with local government agriculture departments and extension officers who often assist with beneficiary verification and program implementation.
Additional Information
Approved farmers will receive fertilisers at designated distribution centres after verification and confirmation.
