Interactive session at Ekiti State Independent Electoral Commission.
Chairman, Hon. Justice Babajide Aladejana, the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Mrs. Modupe Akinbolawa and the Electoral commissioners held an interactive session with all the Electoral officers and their assistants from the sixteen (16) Local Government Area Council of the state on how to move the Commission forward.
The interactive session was centered on how to enhance a free, fair and credible Local Government election.
The Director of operation, Lagos state independent Electoral Commission Mr Gbadegeshin Ademola delivered a lecture on how to conduct a free, fair, transparent, credible and well acceptable Local Government election. He explained the need for regular training for electoral officers in order to enhance the performances.
The Electoral officers highlighted their challenges from their respective Local Governments. These include, poor office accommodation and staff welfare.
They also requested that the commission should provide office furniture and equipment, such as laptops, printers, phones and generators in order to enhance their performance.
The Chairman, Hon. Justice Babajide Aladejana promised that all issues raised would be looked into.
The Electoral Commissioners urged the field officers to discharge their duties as public servants.
