Hammed Ajiran (real name: Hammed Tajudeen Akanbi, also Ahmed Akanbi) is a chairman of the Ojomu Royal Family youth wing in Ajiran, Eti-Osa LGA and also a Lagos businessman.
Based on reports from February and March 2026, the Lagos State Police Command declared Alhaji Hammed Tajudeen Akanbi (also known as Hammed Ajiran), a 38-year-old businessman, wanted in connection with the murder of two princes in the Ajiran community of Eti-Osa, Lagos.
Wanted Declaration: In February 2026, police declared Akanbi wanted for allegedly sponsoring the murders of Sheriff Salami (April 2023) and Prince Ademola Akinloye (August 2024), based on confessions from two arrested suspects, Sefiu Fatai and Yusuf Ismail.
Legal Setback for Police: On March 23, 2026, a Magistrate Court in Ogba, Lagos, set aside its earlier ex parte order that authorized the arrest, remand, and wanted declaration against Akanbi, noting that the order was obtained through the concealment of material facts.
Controversy: Supporters and a coalition of civil society organizations accused the police of being partisan in a communal land dispute and argued that due process was not followed.
As of the latest reports, he was contesting the wanted declaration in court rather than having been extradited by Interpol.
