Strange Times Are Upon Gov. Oyebanji’s Political Fortunes….. How The Deafening Silence from The State Govt EXCO Members & Appointees Will Deny The Incumbent A Second Term.
The second year anniversary of Gov Oyebanji’s government didn’t go bye without the stench of betrayal from within. The first telling tale was the displayed vituperation from a supposed friendly assembly led by Rt. Hon. Aribasoye on the unassuming commissioner for Youths & Sports development, Adebayo Gold.
This legislative outburst necessitated an intrinsic investigative journalism follow up with other commissioners, howbeit their responses were in an unofficial capacity cognisant of the executive council oath of secrecy and allegiance. The instinctual human nature of self preservation kicked in.
Now that the razzmatazz and dust from siren vehicles has settled courtesy 2nd year anniversary of Gov Oyebanji, a germane question that naturally follows is: WHAT CONTINUITY ARE WE ON ABOUT? By consensus, the white elephant in the room is the fraternization of the governor with erstwhile leaders of opposition political parties in the state, thereby creating an air of inferiority complex amongst APC faithfuls, even at the topmost echelon of the party machinery.
The party officials have remained incapacitated as a result of the absence of a substantive state chairman, thereby rendering party officers to an inconsequential status and a state of ignonimity. I want to be corrected on the comment regarding party structure and activities in the state.
Ekiti being a state with a high level of citizenry participation in political activities and discussions made it easy to feel the pulse of the electorates. Feelers on the streets remain uncertain as to the total acceptance of a one political party state as being flaunted and experimented by the governor.
Though it does appear that the opposition has been placed in comatose, thanks to the white elephant in the room amongst other factors, the dictatorial tendencies associated with a one party state remains the greatest fear amongst people on the steets.
Whether the current Assembly can be deemed a “Yes, your Excellency, always Assembly” remains to be seen within their remaining term of tenure. There are, and there are super commissioners, but only one super permanent secretary. The super permanent secretary position was borne out of the shenanigans from various quarters as to who best to fill the spot of a chief of staff, invariably as the squabble persisted, the governor in his wisdom and some “spiritual” direction decided to shut out the position of CoS in his administration to the advantage of his primary school mate and now the defacto governor, Taju Adejumo.
With the reign firmly with Taju and Lekan Oyebanji (the governor’s brother), his Excellency has all the time to focus on his saintly appearance knowing fully well that his retirement package is secured. If you know, you know. The fart that has been held up the anus too long by muscular fission often comes out in odium and is often undetectable by the polluter till the damage is done. That is which is most damaging. A trail of unexplainable wealth is being created amongst a set of certain individuals in government. Canada today, France yesterday, London tomorrow, Ikoyi now, and so the trail continues, but we are keeping tabs till the hour comes!!
The silent rumble within the circle of ostracized commissioners might bring about the early implosion as the commissioner for finance (Akin Oyebode) continues to punish whoever he deems is insubordinate to him, Seun Fakuade can tell his experiences at the hands of “agba akin” oyebode. The eyes of the bush people seem to be opening, the Greek gift of an SUV is fast losing its shine as most commissioners have eventually removed the nylon seat wraps and the question they are asking is ‘what next’?
No ministry outside the super commissioners is implementing any projects, all they do is collect their monthly Running Grants. No matter how secure you think your paper trails are, human being will remain human beings. The challenge to save Ekiti will override all personal gratification that you expend on yesterday men and their associates.I recall that saying, ékítí àgbé wá.
With all temerity, it should be said that if Idowu Osatuyi is made to disappear, a tenfold of Osatuyi are in the ready to fill the vacancy, and may we pray that the disappearances of Osatuyi does ignite the keg of gun powder you seat on sir.
