A social media influencer Miss Goldie has branded the ‘City-Boy Movement’ a failed project for parading men with questionable characters as ambassadors.
Speaking in a video on X, the influcncer said the movement’s choice of representatives undermines its credibility and sends the wrong message to Nigerians who once admired figures like Obi Cubana and Chief Priest for their lavish lifestyles.
She described it as shameful that ordinary citizens once idolized personalities whose wealth and conduct are being questioned.
“The city boys movement is officially a failed movement. it’s a shame that Nigerians were even looking up to people like Obi Cubana and Cubana Chief Priest. These people were once highly respected, but they have belittled themselves all for selfish interest. anyway, these are men with questionable sources of wealth, and it became even more obvious after they joined APC. with the way they throw money around and lavishly display their wealth, it’s hard to believe that people who truly work hard for their money would behave that way.”
Over the years, Nigerians have increasingly questioned the sources of wealth of high-profile figures like Obi Cubana and Chief Priest, despite their lavish lifestyles and public displays of luxury. Social media platforms, particularly Twitter and Instagram, have become hotspots for debates over how these personalities amassed such enormous fortunes.
