
Several residents have been killed following an attack by unidentified gunmen in Angwan Rukuba, a community in Jos North of Plateau State.
The incident occurred around 8 p.m. on Sunday at a popular gathering spot in the area, where residents were reportedly caught off guard as armed men opened fire. Witness accounts indicate that the shooting was sporadic, creating panic as people fled for safety. The attackers are suspected to be cultists, although authorities have not confirmed their identity.
Security forces under Sector 1 of Operation Enduring Peace have since been deployed to the community. Their presence is aimed at restoring calm and preventing further violence.
