Ekiti state has the highest turnover of Governors in Nigeria in the last 20 years, 1999 – 2019. This is not good for the sustainable development of Ekiti State and its people.
Ekiti must resolve to do away with this kind of records and engender political stability and economic prosperity going forward into another decades.
Were Ekiti state to be politically stable, Ekiti should have 3 personalities /Governors and 3 regimes in 20 years ; each with unbroken 8 years of two terms.
Of the 20 years under reference, the progressive parties of AD, ACN and APC ruled Ekiti state for only 9 years, under just 2 progressive Governors, Adeniyi Adebayo and Kayode Fayemi. While the conservative party, PDP, ruled Ekiti state for 11 years, under 6 Governors. What a record!

UNIQUE RECORDS IN EKITI HISTORY.
1.Otunba Richard Adeniyi Adebayo broke a record of being the first democratically elected Governor in Ekiti state.
2.Chief Peter Ayodele Fayose broke a record of being the first Ekiti Governor to have a BROKEN 2 terms as Governor.However, he cumulatively Spent 7 years 5 months as against 8 years.
3.Dr.John Kayode Fayemi has achieved the same feat of having a BROKEN 2 terms as Governor. However, no record was broken.
These are the records yet to be broken in Ekiti state.
- The first Ekiti Governor to spend a constitutional maximum of 8 years.
Dr. Fayemi will, by the grace of God, break this record. Amen.
2.The first Ekiti outgoing elected Governor that will be present on the day of, and witness the Swearing in of another Ekiti Governor.
