LOSE 2019 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, THEN FORGET ABOUT EKITI 2022 GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION!
A quick check at the electoral history and what looks like the voting patterns of Ekiti electorates since the commencement of the fourth Republic on May 29,1999 depicted a voting pattern towards the federal ruling government and party. In addition, within this period, INEC hasn’t pronounced or declared any gubernatorial candidates of opposition parties the winner of election in Ekiti state.
Let’s take a quick review.
1.Otunba Niyi Adebayo election was conducted by a military head of state, General Abdusalam before the commencement of civilian regime on May 29,1999. Were the election to be conducted under a civilian president, i wasn’t sure Otunba Niyi Adebayo of the opposition Party, AD, would be declared as the winner of the election.
2.Chief Ayo Fayose of the ruling PDP federal government was declared winner of 2003 gubernatorial election.
3.Engr. Segun Oni of the ruling PDP federal government was declared winner of 2007 gubernatorial election.
4.Dr. Kayode Fayemi of the opposition Party ACN was declared governor BY THE COURT AND NOT INEC!
5.Chief Ayo Fayose of the ruling PDP federal government was declared the winner of 2014 gubernatorial election.
6.Dr Kayode Fayemi of the ruling APC federal government was declared the winner of 2018 gubernatorial election.
Following the above trajectory, Had President Jonathan of the then ruling PDP federal government won the 2015 presidential election, the candidate of the PDP would have been declared governor of Ekiti State in the gubernatorial election of 2018.
Ekiti PDP lost Ekiti Gubernatorial election in 2015, and not in 2018
One doesn’t need the wisdom of Solomon to know that THE GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATE OF THE RULING FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WILL BE DECLARED THE GOVERNOR OF EKITI STATE IN 2022
Should APC win February 16, 2019 presidential election, which I am too sure they will, the declaration of APC gubernatorial candidate as governor of Ekiti State in 2022 is assured!
