A former presidential candidate and a Chieftain of the Labour Party, LP, Professor Pat Utomi, has reacted to the allegation of corruption and misappropriation of public funds, levelled against the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC.
While reacting, Professor Pat Utomi made it known that the issue may be entertainment for some individuals. He went on and disclosed that other nations are mocking Nigeria as a result of the issue. Utomi went further and noted that someone recently used the issue to mock Nigeria in Washington DC, USA. Professor Utomi also noted that shame will not kill him, as a result of high level of corruption in the country.
Professor Pat Utomi made this disclosure in a post he made on his official X handle on Friday evening, while reacting to the report.
He wrote: “It may be entertainment for some- this trial of Kogi’s Bello in the court of public opinion. For me it adds to why the world mocks Nigeria. Yesterday someone caricatured it at lunch in DC. Armed robbers lynching pickpockets to jeers and cheers of rogue apprentices.
“May shame not kill me. This is the depth of crisis of elite in Nigeria. From Abia to Delta and Zamfara the abuse of trust beggars belief.”
