The Executive Secretary of the National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF), accompanied by members of the Fund’s management team, participated in the workshop on “Governing for Agricultural Impact: From Oversight to Outcomes,” held in London, United Kingdom, this week.
The programme brought together members of the Joint Committees of the National Assembly on Agriculture, Production and Services to discuss how legislative oversight can improve the planning, implementation and monitoring of agricultural programmes.
Discussions centred on public sector accountability, budget performance, policy implementation and the role of Parliament in ensuring that government interventions deliver the intended benefits to farmers and the agricultural sector.
The participation of the NADF delegation gave the Fund the opportunity to engage directly with lawmakers and other stakeholders on issues shaping agricultural financing, programme delivery and institutional coordination in Nigeria.
