
The National Centre for Agricultural Mechanization (NCAM) has expressed its to partner with the Ekiti State Government to realize its Agriculture Development Agenda by assisting Ekiti State farmers
with some of their fabricated machines to make farming less laborious and more rewarding.
The representative of NCAM, Engineer (Mrs.) Adamade Christiana said this in Ado-Ekiti at a meeting with the Ekiti-State Commissioner for Agricultural and Rural Development, Hon Folorunso Olabode in his office.
Engineer (Mrs.) Adamade who spoke on behalf of the Chief Executive of
the organization, Dr. M.Y Kasali, said the Organization is fully prepared to bring Rice and Cassava processing machines down to Ekiti and will also organize a workshop to train and demonstrate to the farmers on how to use the machines.
In his remarks, Hon. Folorunso Olabode lauded the gesture of the organization towards partnering the state on one of the five key developmental agenda of the administration of Governor Kayode Fayemi
and assured them of a good relationship between the organization and the state government.
The Commissioner said Governor Fayemi is really concerned about how to make life easy for Ekiti farmers who are pivotal to realizing his goal of making Agriculture one of its economic bases and make the state self-sufficient in food production to feed its populace and subsequently food basket of the South West.
He noted that mechanization was one of the major challenges confronting Ekiti farmers which NCAM intervention may resolve and urged the organization to ensure the machines they are bringing are
well tested, accessible and affordable for the farmers.
Also present at the meeting is the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Engr. Abegunde and some top officials of the ministry.
