The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has apprehended an 80-year-old man during an operation in Ekiti State after he was found with illegal drugs.
The agency disclosed that the suspect was arrested on March 26 at a camp in Efon-Alaaye, where officers recovered about 2.2 kilograms of suspected cannabis (skunk) along with a quantity of methamphetamine.
The arrest formed part of a broader nationwide crackdown on drug trafficking, which also resulted in several other arrests and seizures across states such as Ondo, Benue, Edo, and Taraba.
NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, stated that the agency remains committed to intensifying its fight against drug-related crimes while also promoting awareness through its War Against Drug Abuse campaign.
