The Nigerian Army, under Operation Safe Haven, has successfully dismantled an illicit rifle fabrication factory in Plateau State’s troubled region. Troops, operating as part of Hakorin Damisa IV, discovered the clandestine facility during clearance operations on rugged mountainous terrain in Pakachi Village, Mangu Local Government Area.
The isolated structure, situated on high ground, was found to be a hub for illegal weapons production. In a statement released on Wednesday, the army disclosed that the operation resulted in the arrest of a key suspect, Mr. Tapshak Plangji, a 25-year-old male, believed to be involved in the illegal activities at the factory.
The alleged owner of the facility, Mr. Nuhu Meshack, is currently evading authorities, but efforts are underway to bring him to justice.

The army emphasized that Mr. Plangji, the apprehended suspect, is currently in custody alongside the recovered rifles and other items for further investigation.
