
Olumilua assures on sustainability of Feeding Programme
Ekiti State Government has assured that proper monitoring and
evaluation mechanism will be put in place to ensure the sustenance of
the recently launched National Home Grown School Feeding Programme.
The State Commissioner for Information, Tourism and Values
Orientation, Aare Muyiwa Olumilua, who gave this assurance while
addressing a group of teachers under the aegis of ‘Like minds
Teachers’ in Ado-Ekiti said Dr. Kayode Fayemi-led administration will
leave no stone unturned in ensuring the sustainability of the
programme which would be to the benefit of both the school children in
particular and the State in general.
According to the Commissioner, proper monitoring of all facets of the
programme would both eliminate sharp practices and guarantee desired
result. He however solicited the cooperation of all stakeholders,
stressing the need to report any unwholesome behaviour to relevant
authorities for prompt attention.
Olumilua, who said the Executive Order by the Governor remains
sacrosanct, emphasized that no head of school is allowed to charge
school fees.
While warning that anyone caught charging illegal school fees in Ekiti
State would be made to face the full wrath of the law, Olumilua said
the school feeding programme, which is free covers all primaries one
to three pupils in public schools across the State.
