In the last few days, social media has been awash with leaked videos of a luxurious multi-million dollar mansion in Asokoro, a highbrow district of the FCT discovered to be owned by former Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomole, ostensibly acquired from proceeds of corruption.
The house which is estimated to cost about ₦10.5 Billion is located at 8A Hassan Usman Katsina Street Asokoro and has a swimming Pool on the roof with Four Floors and a Basement parking for luxury cars. The Multi Billion edifice is a stark contrast to the sufferings of millions of Nigerians languishing in penury under the APC led Federal Government.
Before his sojourn into politics and emergence as Governor of Edo State, Adam Oshiomhole didn’t possess these kind of luxurious properties that he now owns all over the world. From a tailor and Textile worker unionist in Kaduna, Comrade Oshiomhole has become one of the Wealthiest men in Nigeria without any known enterprise but only unbridled access to tax payers money as Governor and now Senator.
Further revelations indicate that Oshiomhole has moved into the new Asokoro mansion where he now holds his meetings on how to deploy Federal might to rig elections for his new found unpopular god son and APC Governorship Candidate, Monday Okpebholo. The hedonistic billionaire comrade always needs a puppet in government house so he can sustain his extravagant lifestyle and use Edo State as his cash cow.
Since he left office as Governor in 2016, Oshiomhole has built a career out of playing the Godfather. He has been obsessed with trying to tell Edo people who to vote for essentially for his own personal gains and financial profit.
As soon as he realised that he could not control his successor, Godwin Obaseki like a puppeteer with a puppet’s strings, he went back to Osagie Ize-Iyamu whom he had castigated earlier like a dog back to its vomit and in 2020, the alliance was crushed by a landslide victory resulting in the overwhelming reelection of Governor Godwin Obaseki for a second term in office.
This time around he has found one in Monday Okpebholo, a universally acclaimed incompetent puppet and lackey, to be his Governor and fund his opulent lifestyle and finance his inordinate ambition to be senate president in 2027 using Edo State as his personal ATM machine.
This desperation has seen him go all out, to fabricate lies, spread propaganda and even perfect plans to rig for a manifestly incompetent Monday Okpebholo against the collective wishes of Edo people.
In return, the Irrua born Senator Monday Okpebholo who has been the subject of ridicule for his numerous gaffes and bloopers has practically submitted to handing over the State’s treasury to Oshiomhole should the misfortune of having him as Governor ever befall Edo state in September 2024.
