The soaring influence of His Excellency, Peter Obi began to wane on the day he underpriced a bottle of groundnuts from a poor woman in the market. This singular attitude is adjudged by many observers as a self destructive strategy whose damning effect would begin to manifest in the election at FCT and extend to 2027 general elections.
Observers are still asking questions, particularly as to whether a man who underpriced a product of a poor woman can lift any poor person out of poverty. Many attribute this to a stingy character which led Anambra doctors to go on strike for more than a year.
While some joked that a madman might have whispered the advice to him, many others believe it was a trick misapplied. Many politicians had applied this trick to win votes in the past. Ayo Fayose bought roasted plantains and blessed the seller in thousands of Naira. Oshiomole did more to another seller of corn.
The popular saying that you are blessed when you meet Asiwaju on one on one is real. If that groundnuts seller had been fortunate to meet Asiwaju in that condition, the woman’s life would have changed for life
