This audio update is good news; but the general complaint about the neglect of Southwest roads has nothing to do with the politics of any Governor’s reelection.
The insecurity and hellishness experienced by motorists traveling on these Southwest roads is the sad reality.
I personally hired a car to drive me from Abuja to Ado Ekiti during the 2023 presidential election campaign; and also deliberately traveled by road in a public transport from Ado Ekiti Garage to Abuja in October 2023, after attending Governor BAO’s first-year-in-office anniversary celebration, for a personal taste of what the masses experience daily on Southwest roads.
May I also add that I and several members of my extended family travelled by road from Lagos to Ilesha five months ago to attend the funeral ceremonies of my late brother-in-law. The experience on these Southwest roads was nothing to write home about.
Southwest Governors need to redouble their efforts to salvage the region’s roads and interstate highways. Their Governors’ Forum needs to take up this issue with the Presidency as a matter of utmost urgency and concern.
I come in peace ✌
