SENATOR FATIMA RAJI-RASAKI TAKES CASE TO APC APPEALS COMMITTEE IN ABUJA.
The sitting Senator representing Ekiti Central Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate, Mrs. Fatima Kikelomo Raji-Rasaki is currently appearing before the APC Primary Election Appeals Committee sitting at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.
Even though she had contested and woefully lost the primary election which held on Friday, 5th October, 2018; she is insisting that the party ought to give her automatic ticket to contest the February 16, 2019 election as the Senatorial Candidate of the party in spite of the fact that she scored only 3,289 votes against Hon. Michael Opeyemi Bamidele’s overwhelming figure of 60,823 votes.
The Appeal Committee is expected to take a decision later today and submit its report to the National Working Committee of the party by tomorrow.
Senator Raji Rasaki’s action incurred the anger of many party leaders, including some journalists who came to the party secretariat today and got to know about her appeal.
They considered her action as a last-minute act of desperation and opportunism. One of the leaders from the South West wondered how someone who was so massively rejected by the voters last week could still be struggling for the ticket, wondering who she intended to go and represent if the same people had already rejected her. The world awaits the outcome of Mrs. Raji Rasaki’s appeal.
