UNVEILING THE SPECIAL EDITION OF FOUNTAIN BUREAUCRAT; THE JOURNAL OF EKITI STATE PUBLIC SERVICE.
By Rotimi Feyisina
It all started in the year 2013 when the first edition of THE FOUNTAIN BUREAUCRAT was birthed. The Fountain Bureaucrat is the journal of Ekiti State Public Service and it has its vision to be ‘Towards a well informed, competent and highly professional Civil Service’ while the Mission clearly states, ‘ To serve as a veritable platform for the acquisition of knowledge and cross fertilization of ideas and experiences in the Civil Service.
After that first edition, about four others have been produced before the latest.
The Acting Head of Service, Mrs Peju Babafemi upon her assumption of office in November, last year swung into action, setting up new Editorial Board to produce this special edition with the cover ‘Journey of 100 days… Restoring the values’. Of course, it is a familiar terrain as the Acting Head of Service who is the current Chairman/Publisher was the pioneer Editor-in-Chief of the journal.
This new edition is indeed the ‘bomb’ as virtually every member of the public will find it very useful. The Public Servants will find it so educative, particularly towards promotional exams and interviews while the academic and other members of the public would always find it as a reference point considering the contents of this special edition.
Inside this edition are the inaugural speech of Governor Kayode Fayemi (including comprehensive details of the 4 pillars of his administration), inauguration lecture by the great Professor Niyi Osundare, Overview of the 2017 Public Service Rules, the legality of Executive Orders and Harmonisation of Salaries and Pension payment timeline among other juicy contents.
It is indeed a good one from the versatile Acting Head of Service/Publisher and the hard working and brilliant members of the Editorial Board.
As the special edition of the Fountain Bureaucrat is unveiled today, I urge members of the public to avail themselves of this very valuable journal while the Public Servants should oblige themselves with best practices through this special edition of the Fountain Bureaucrat.
